Tent / Ground Cloth Maintenance

Tents need to be set up and checked for matching numbers on all parts, including rain fly. If they don’t match, check around to see if you can find yours. Clean all trash and dirt out of tent by turning it inside out and shaking it. Be easy on them.

Look for holes or tears in floor, sides, front and backs.

Check for snaps, bungee cords, and ‘S’ hooks.

As you find them mark them and then take tent down and start your repairs. If there is any questions about whether the tent is in too bad of condition to repair get with Jim Gaffney or Bud Sakmary.

If the zippers are hard to open and close, rubbing them with a candle wax will usually make the easier to zip.

 There should be 4 (4-section), 1 (3-section) and 2 single aluminum poles, plus 2 plastic tee’s.

Plastic ground cloths should be clean, dry and folded neatly.
