Troop 935 Patrol Box Contents

1 - patrol box with the patrol’s name on it. This should be assigned to a different scout after each campout so he can learn how to keep it clean for the next adventure. Everything should be thoroughly washed after each campout. This may take some adult supervision. Remember, everything has to fit in the box, and it will. 

2 propane stoves (these stoves are numbered)

2 hoses for connecting stoves to propane**

1 griddle (bacon, hamburgers, pancakes, etc)

2 wash tubs

2 stove stands, 2 stove stand braces

Cooking pots (this is a set the all fits in the big pot)      

          Large pot for boiling water (wash water)

          2-3 other pots, skillet, small coffee pot of boiling water

Utensils

          Small pairing knife (2), medium size knife (1)

          Spatula (metal/teflon coated, no plastic, they melt.)

          Large spoon for stirring, Can opener, potato peeler

          Tongs, Spaghetti cradle, large fork

    

Cutting board (non-wooden) plastic or nylon acceptable

Cooking mitten, pot holders (2-3)

Small bottle of liquid soap (washing dishes and hands, pop tops or screw on lids work the best)

Small bottle of Clorox (rinse water)

Scouring pad (chore-boy) (several)

Large pitcher (32/48) oz. (plastic with lid)

Measuring cups/spoons, salt, pepper, seasoning

First-aid kit***, Small fold-up shovel

 

A patrol should also have a food box (action packer) to keep their food in that can be used from campout to campout that doesn’t spoil and can also be used to transport their stuff to each campout.

** Propane bottles, trees, lanterns and cooking tabletops are kept in the Troop trailer.

*** First-aid kit-while a large one is provided by the troop, if the patrols have their own outing they will need one. A nice one is available at Wal-Mart or Sam’s.
